Within the Zen tradition, Rohatsu sesshin commemorates the Buddha's enlightenment and is traditionally regarded as the most demanding and rigorous meditation retreat of the year.
Sesshin is a concentrated training period, a mix of practices to “gather the heart-mind." It focuses on zazen but includes calligraphy, short periods of mindful work in the zendo, formal temple-style meals (all vegetarian), dharma talks, and individual meetings with our teacher.

No one should pass up sesshin for financial reasons; if you cannot make the total donation, please email the address above or speak to us at the zendo about alternatives.
